Origins
Koffeesmith, was born out of more than a decade of service to the Armenian Community. I began hand-making Soorj (Armenian Coffee) for the Sacramento Armenian Food Festival in 2010. I wanted to be able share the unique culture with the wider community.

Coffee Works is Sacramento's longest independently, and Family-Owned Coffee Shop in Sacramento, since 1982. It's a staple of life in East Sacramento. In many ways its not only my other kitchen, but its my other home.

Dark Star is Coffee Works’ premium French Roast. Since deep roasting not only creates but also destroys flavors, for Dark Star we select only those beans which complement dark roasting with enhanced original flavor character. The result is a French Roast that is burnished with body and richness, but never burnt or bitter.
